2020 isn’t turning out like we thought it would; especially for all the couples who planned a wedding this year. But the beauty of it all is that we are being forced to slow down and appreciate the details – not the grand events. Micaela and Lane chose to still get married, even though their big party had to be cancelled. They chose to have an intimate Pacific Northwest elopement, just the two of them and Micaela’s best friend, who acted as maid of honor, officiant, coordinator, dinner server/pizza deliverer!
This day was a reminder that marriage isn’t about the party (though that part is super fun and I encourage all 2020 couples to plan a reception to celebrate with friends and family at some point). It’s about the two of you joining your lives together! And that can’t be stopped. If you were planning to have your wedding this year, don’t nix the option of still getting married!
